If you’re looking for something that heats up fast but won’t torch your materials, these are for you. We built these specifically for those tricky jobs where you need a quick ramp-up but can’t risk scorching the surface of whatever you’re working on.

The fit and the feel

We went with a 600mm length and 1300W for a reason. It gives you a nice, steady spread of heat. You won’t find those annoying hot spots that usually pop up with shorter, high-wattage tubes. Plus, because they’re longer, you can cover a bigger workpiece or a wider conveyor belt without having to mess around with a dozen smaller units and a nightmare of wiring. It just keeps things clean.

Why carbon fiber?

Inside, we’re using carbon fiber filaments. Here’s the thing: they run cooler than tungsten but still push out plenty of infrared heat. Because they aren’t fighting those extreme temperatures, they tend to last longer through constant on-and-off cycles. And they’re tougher. Carbon fiber isn’t as fragile as quartz. It can handle the chaos of a busy factory floor much better, though you still want to be careful—don’t go smashing into the outer glass or you’ll have a problem.

Getting them to work for you

Installing these is a breeze. They basically slide right into the spot where your old infrared heaters lived. But a heads-up: these aren’t exactly the same as short-wave halogen. If you’re after that instant, “flash” heat, these might feel a bit more relaxed. You’ll want to tweak your PID controllers to handle the way carbon fiber holds heat, otherwise, you might overshoot your target temperature. Also, give them room to breathe. 1300W puts out a lot of heat, and if your housing is boxed in without any vents, you’re going to trip your thermal cut-offs. Keep the air moving and you’re golden.
