Introduction
We built this carbon fiber infrared heating lamp for one reason: to give you a heat source that jumps into action the second you need it. It’s a direct replacement for industrial setups that demand intense, focused heat—the kind that comes on fast and hits hard, all in a compact package.
The Power Behind the Heat
Here’s the setup: a 400V, 2500W lamp, packed into a 300mm quartz tube. Why that combo? Because it delivers serious power without overloading your wiring or the contact points in the reflector. And that 300mm length? It gives you a sweet spot—a heating zone that’s focused enough to be precise, but wide enough to cover the job. But here’s the thing about this much power: it runs hot. So the fixture around it needs to be ready for that heat. If your machine enclosure is a tight squeeze, you’ve got to make sure there’s proper airflow and a little distance between the lamp and other components. Otherwise, you’re just asking to cook the electronics nearby, which shortens their life.
The Inside Story: What Makes It Work
We went with a carbon filament for a reason—it ramps up almost instantly and delivers a powerful blast of infrared energy. To keep it running strong over time, we fill the lamp with halogen gas, which helps slow down the filament’s evaporation. That means a longer, more stable life for the lamp. And that quartz envelope? It’s tough. It handles the shock of rapid on/off cycles without cracking. Because on the shop floor, downtime is the enemy, and you need gear that just keeps going. The R7s base is a huge part of the design, too. It’s a simple bi-pin, end-cap mount that lets you drop this lamp right into existing reflector sockets. No custom brackets. No re-engineering. It’s a straight swap. And we built it to take the physical wear and tear of installation and removal, so you don’t have to handle it with kid gloves during maintenance.
Where This Lamp Shines
This is the lamp you reach for when you need fast, repeatable heat—without turning your whole work area into a sauna. It’s a workhorse in plastic processing, especially for jobs like PET blowing and thermoforming, where you need a consistent heat profile and the cycles are short. It’s also a perfect fit for drying and curing setups that rely on focused IR to hit a specific surface temperature. On the floor, the payoff is simple: you get a ton of power from a small footprint, a stable temperature profile during production, and a lamp you can swap out in seconds thanks to the R7s base. Just remember: with this kind of output, your surrounding hardware has to be ready for the heat.
