But with a carbon fiber core, these things hit their stride almost instantly. At 2000W, you’re getting a concentrated blast of heat that seriously cuts down those annoying pre-heating cycles on your production line. The electrical side of things Here is the practical part: running a 2000W load on a 220V circuit means you’re pulling about 9.1 amps per lamp. Now, if you’re planning to wire a whole bank of these for a drying tunnel or a PET blowing station, double-check your panel. You’ll need to make sure it can handle the total current. One big plus? Carbon fiber doesn’t “sag” like tungsten does when things get scorching hot. That means your heat stays steady and even across the whole tube, rather than bunching up in the middle. What’s actually inside? It’s a carbon fiber weave tucked inside a high-purity quartz envelope. This combo pushes out short-to-medium wave infrared radiation that goes straight into your workpiece. The quartz does the heavy lifting by protecting the fiber from oxidation. But a word of caution:quartz is brittle. If you bump it too hard or hit it with a sudden, extreme temperature shock, it can crack. And if that happens, the fiber burns out in a heartbeat. Handle them with care. Making them work for you These are usually easy drop-in replacements for standard IR tubes. They’re great for paint curing, shaping plastics, or drying textiles. But keep in mind, 2000W puts off a lot of ambient heat. You can’t just tuck these away and forget about them. Make sure your housing has plenty of airflow or some active cooling. If your connectors and wiring get too hot, the lamps won’t last nearly as long as they should. Keep them cool, and they’ll keep working.
