Your parts hit the right temperature much quicker, meaning they don’t have to travel as far down the belt to get the job done. What’s inside? We use carbon fiber filaments tucked inside high-purity quartz. Now, if you’ve used old-school nichrome wire, you know it tends to sag once things get hot. Carbon fiber doesn’t do that. It stays put. The quartz is there to keep the filament from oxidizing and wearing out. And since these things heat up almost instantly, you aren’t wasting a bunch of electricity just waiting for the machine to warm up during downtime. A few things to keep in mind… Swapping these in is pretty easy, but you can’t just “set it and forget it.” Since the M-shape concentrates so much energy, that quartz tube gets hot—fast. If your housing doesn’t have good airflow or your fans are a bit weak, you might find yourself melting nearby plastic parts or tripping your thermal switches. Just make sure your venting is up to the task. Also, double-check your power supply. These tubes pack a punch, and they’ll draw a specific amount of wattage. If you try to overdrive the voltage to get “extra” heat, you’ll fry the filament in a few weeks. Stick to the specs, and they’ll last you a long time.
