Power, Voltage, and Size—Kept Practical
Here’s the heart of it: a shortwave infrared profile packed into a compact tube, usually around 300mm long. That length gives you a tight heating zone that lines up perfectly with press stations and the spots where parts pause on the conveyor—without turning the whole work cell into a sauna. The wattage is high because you need that quick ramp-up. And the voltage is matched to your plant supply. If you’re on 400V, you get serious heat density without pulling huge current. That means your wiring can stay smaller, and your contactors don’t have to work as hard. Your relays, fuses, and terminal blocks can be spec’d more sensibly, too. Now, the trade-off: packing that much power into a short footprint creates intense local heat. So the machine enclosure and cooling have to be set up to shed that extra warmth. Otherwise, nearby sensors and motors will start running hotter than you want.
